Tucked between the hectic A3 highway and the vast River Thames, Kennington is one of inner London's best-kept secrets. It is a neighbourhood bursting with brick houses and pretty squares surrounded by some perfect examples of Georgian architecture. The most renowned is the idyllic Cleaver Square, where locals can be spotted playing boules in the summer where cheering is supported by the little Prince of Wales pub in the corner. Furthermore, an annual summer party here brings the community together, where there are jars by jars of homemade jam and games of Splat the Rat.
